Do schools kill creativity?

Probably this is a never ending discution, but eduaction and goverments today are more interested in make sure that more kids graduate and go to college, than the kind of education that they are reciving. In our country for example eduaction is oriented to get kids out of poverty and send them directly to the university to study some good career that will give them a good way to live in the future. It may not be a bad way to manage education, but it defitnily ot kilss creativity, personally i think that not every body is made to study, there are many great talents that are being wasted because an artist and a muscian will not have the same future thanm a lawyer. But by other side i do really think that the goverment cant doent have more tools and many times cant have the control of what´s happening in every school. So the only responsabity of maintain that creativity alive are parents and teachers, they are the only ones that can make a significant change from the inside of the problem and wihout wait that some day the concept of education in the world to change.

Rule Britania (or British Pirates!!)

While i was reading the article i started to think that we were in another time in history, like in times of colonization and stuff, and it´s hard to believe that the desesperation of be sure that oil and gas will not be abstent in the future of you country and only for them a big country as Britain will take away this small piece of land that in this days is one of the small places where the natural enviroment of the animal that live there is still respected. The awful thing about this situation is the desire of taking this land away whith the only porpose of exploting his natural resourses. I think that our country and Argentina arent free of this desires, because we have exploted parts of our envirement but i do believe that the Antartica is in better hand with us, that we are a small country and we dont really expect to became a number one country really soon, than a country that´s really powerfull and his ambition may be end destroying a one of a kind place in the world.

Maybe a big country as UK should be thinking in new ways of energy and ways to save our world than take away lands with the porpose of exploting it for they own benefit. It´s time to think in the world not in our selves.

techno world

The tchnology piece i love it the most is the television. I know it´s awful but i probably cant live without it. It´s hard to deside because i really love my notebook too, and i mean it like love, like i really get attached to material stuff really easy, and i probably love more my notebook than my tv, but my notebook is part of my work and my tv is part of my relaxing time and that´s what it wins the title of my favorite piece of technology.
I wake up watching tv, and i get sleep watching tv. When i was younger i didnt have tv on my bedroom so i just to be a music person. Since i have a tv in my bedroom i´m a tv person, and i have tried a lot of times to take it out of my room, but i bring it back every time. I just love it.

Fav Web Site

mmm, weird question, there is so many websites that i spend time on that it´s weird to choose one. It could sound like a easy way out but i have to say google, and i choose it despite of that i hate the monopoly of the internet that it has. I spend a lot of time looking out images from google and i really like the idea of a portal for an other world, and i think that google means that. You just enter any word and it opens to you a whole new world of things that you dont know. In theory it´s quite similr to the concept behind the google earth.

I thin that Internet democratize the access to free information, the access to know as many information as you can get without manipulation. and it just allows you to know the same as someone that lives in the other side of the world, someone rich, someone poor, it just dont discriminate. and Google is a site that makes it possible.

This picture shows google´s plans to dominate the world :)

Victory City

As architects we know that there is a ton of city models around with ideals for a better quality of life. Tis city remainds me Colonia Dignidad and i dont really liked not because the fact of the bad things that happened there, just because i dont understand tje wish of run away from the real world. It really surprised me when i read the web site, i think i never heard about it. When i read it i felt like someone is trying to sell me an apartment more that defending his own ideal. I dont like this kind of advertisement where they put all the great things, when i can see that there is a bunch of bad stuff that it can brings to people´s life. I believe in a city of the future where people will be more conected and with a global vision of the world and the problems in it, not a closed city with all that you need, clean air, no expences, no crime, no nothing. I think it´s a selfish way to be conscious about your world. It reflex a vision of a 13 years old boy that thought that living in a bubble far away from the real life would be the best for the future.

My favorite song

I just cant think in just one song to write about it. I really believe that favorite songs are those that marks in some way a special moment in our lives. Once in a while think in songs that make me feel like i did in a special place. I used to like a lot alanis morrisette and when i listen her i just think a bunch of friends that i had in my childhood and that for diferents reasons i lost touch with. i have in my head a lot of songs in my head from pearl jam as black and Jeremy and from incubus that we used to hear in the breaks from school. I have special love to Incubus because it remainds me good times on vacations in Rapel. I have a song from alanis Morrisette that i love called Unsent. I have a girly taste of music ad if have to choose one song over all the rest i think that i would have to say I miss you, Incubus.

UNLIMITED!

The guardian website made me feel like i wasnt going to never end of checking it out, and at first sight it looks a lot more serious than it really is. The Home page gives you a view of the world most important news, and under the tittle it makes you really clear that the last updating was made just a couple of minutes ago, so it really makes you feel like you are getting the news live. It surprised me when i noticed that it has a big part of it dedicated to arts, music and travel, and it made me notice that each day I´m more used to read the newspaper on the Internet. Its weird but my parents the firts thing that they do in the morning everyday is check out the news and the finantial news on the web, at home, at the office and even on the beach, and this is possible because we have wi fi everywhere this days, so it allows you read the news even while you take your breakfast in bed. This sites now are much more than just news, it let you get information about movies, check out music, plan a trip, find out prices, look out for a good restaurant, make reservations and even has a search part where you dont have to go to google, directly from guardian you find what ever you want.

This website is updating all the time and they are alot more conscius about the world in a global way, they offer services that makes you aware that the problems in this days are the same in the whole world. This sites are really oriented to a mass public, and we are not talking anymore of a british web site, it´s a world wide site. This last thing you can see it reflexed in the site Compare & Buy that it gives you alternatives of prices in the market and it actually allow you Makes an Energy Price Check for Free!, so you can really know how much money you are wasting in energy. It also has a Job Site, where you can offer and ask for jobs.

I think that the tittle says it right, Guardian Unlimited it´s about that, a site with no limits, as much information as posibble trying to cover all the topics possible, with the only objetive to inform and reach to every person, everywhere.

Girl in the pearl earring

This other of my favorites books and the first one i read completly in English while i lived in USA, it´s a pretty and girly book. I havent see the movie yet and i think i wont see it thou, because if is a bad movie it will kill my good impression about the book.

my favorite book

One of my favorites books is Boleros en la Habana from Roberto Ampuero. His subject to write it´s almost the same, police books and mafia.
This book may not be the best book i´ve read in my life, but it became my favorite years ago back in to school, and the great thing about it it´s the easy to imagine everything that happens while you are reading it. It is a easy and fun book . When i had to read it, my first impression was that, i may not like it because my last book back then it was Sidartha drom H. Hesse wich was the complete opposite of Boleros en la Habana, it was a lot harder to finish and to read, i really liked that book too, but the subject was a lot more psicologic. Boleros en la Habana´s subject it´s a police book, with investigation and mafia, that kinda things hat i´m not used to read, but it´s treated in a way that comes far from Sherlok Holmes. It´s a topic treated as something common, easy to imagine, really urban and typical from anywhere, so it´s pretty funny to realize that those persons exists everywhere but it´s just we dont notice them until we see them reflect in a person from a book. The persecution, the cops, the mafia it just makes it really fun.
I´m not going to tell the whole story because i dont want to ruin your reading if you deside to read it some time.
I´m just a not a everyday reader except of stuff involved wih the architecture, but i dont have the habbit of a night time for reading and i think it´s because besides the lack of time, i´m just a visual person, so that´s why it´s so imporant for me a book that i can see it in my head while i´m reading. And Roberto Ampuero´s books makes my job easier.
